Burning Man 2006
or How I Spent my Summer Holidays
My eighth year at Black Rock City, and one of the most complicated.
Previous years
have seen me chucking a pile of gear into the car and driving off from Vancouver or
Seattle. This year involved airline travel from London, global security threats and
sudden baggage restrictions, and all the hassles and expense involved in preparing
for a desert photographic expedition from overseas.
And I couldn't have done it without all the support from all my friends and family in
Canada and the USA. Thanks to Joseph Pasquarella Smith for massive logistical
help, Ivan Cockrum for shipping and handling and friendship, Zobeewa Wayzobeh for sharing his
incredible double-decker bus, Marco Mazzoni and Diana Penney for studio assistance,
my parents for the border.
And Jennifer for making the whole thing possible
in the first place.
