Caption: Note the wood plates on the ground. Each one is cut to a specific quadrilateral shape. If you were to shine an imaginary light directly down from above the structure, it would cast shadows in those shapes.
The smaller sculpture is called the Zomphalo by Patricia Algara “HummingBee” and Chris K. Palmer, and contained 3D-printed hive like structures. The windows were made of cast resin and incorporated the bodies of dead bees from Patricia’s garden hive, as if trapped in prehistoric amber.
