Caption: For years I’ve wanted to photograph the Man during the burn from within No Man’s Land, which is the central safety ring. This area, because of all the pyrotechnic explosives, is off limits to all but a few rangers and people in silver proximity suits. Well, this year I was able to do it, thanks to a complex and cunning plan.
