Caption: Essentially this was a circular metal frame rotating on an axle. Nothing more high tech than a guy to the left physically turning a crank. Sometimes it's the simplest things which work best.
The wheel was filled with burning wood, which sprayed beautiful fireflies of wood sparks everywhere. Note the cleaning equipment to sweep up the mess.
