We all went for a swim in an irrigation canal a couple of times. The water was a bit questionable, but it was great to cool off.
Santi made a disturbing find in the woods - the dessicated remains of a hanged dog. I asked a Spanish person about this later on and he shrugged and said, "Yes, they hang dogs here. Cheaper than using bullets." After a moment's thought he added, "I suppose it is kind of cruel."
